Diplo is re-teaming with photographer Shane McCauley for Blow Your Head, a quarterly ‘zine that will see the pair exploring a different country and musical genre in each issue.
The pair previously collaborated on 128 Beats Per Minute. The first issue will focus on their trip to Kingstown, Jamaica’s Trenchtown as well as their visits to Tuff Gong Studios, Gee Jam Studios and Sugarman Beach.
The ‘zine will be available as a 8 x 10 inch, 96 page, black and white softcover printed in a limited addition and amount. Pre-orders are available in three different bundles – the standard book, deluxe edition and the deluxe edition with a limited silk screen poster.
It will officially launch on October 1 on Picture Box with a launch event at FAMILY in LA where Diplo and McCauley will be signing copies of the ‘zine.
Ghost Robot will release A LOVE LETTER FOR YOU, a movie that blends narrative and documentary styles, digitally on September 25.
The Joey Garfield-directed film chronicles Stephen ESPO Powers’ Love Letter Project for the Mural Arts Program in West Philadelphia. Powers received a grant from the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Exhibitions Initiative in 2009 to paint 50 murals on West Philly’s elevated train tracks. The film also features performances from other graffiti artists Jose Antonio as MICE and Nick Defalco as MR. BROWN.
The film’s music was composed by ESPO’s good friend and Philly artist Kurt Heasley of Lilys; a popular shoegaze band from the early 90s.
The movie can be purchased here. The trailer is below;

Brooklyn sister duo Prince Rama have released yet another track from their forthcoming release Top 10 Hits Of The End Of The World, out on November 6 on Paw Tracks.
This time, the band is channeling I.M.M.OR.T.A.L.I.F.E. As the description goes; “In the early eighties, a London sex cult infiltrated underground discotheques based on the principle that the secret to immortality was found through engaging in intimate acts of love. To retain their anonymity, members went by the acronym I.M.M.OR.T.A.L.I.F.E., or ‘Inner Messages Morphing Over Resonant Time, Always Loving Infinitely Free and Everlasting’. For years, I.M.M.O.R.T.A.L.I.F.E. dedicated itself to recording dance track hymnals that would provoke lovemaking acts and thus prolong the lives of its members. When the end of the world came, the group was found frozen in midst of an orgiastic collapse. They had not slept or eaten in thirteen days.”
