Nude Beach Announce Tour Dates, Offer Free MP3

Brooklyn rockers Nude Beach announced that they will release a 7″ single with two new songs on Other Music Recording Co. on July 9. To preview the the single, the band is offering a free stream of the b-side ‘I’m Giving Up’. The a-side is ‘What Can Ya’ Do’.

Mad Decent Unveils 2013 Block Party Line-ups

Mad Decent has unveiled the line-up and dates for the 2013 Block Party.

It kicks off on July 19 in Calgary and wraps up on September 15 in San Diego. Major Lazer, Flosstradamus, Dillon Francis and RIFF RAFF are just a few of the names slated to play.

Fan club tickets go on sale tomorrow, May 1 and come with a free 30 day premium Mad Decent membership to the label’s subscription service. General and VIP tickets will go on sale on May 3 and 4. Tickets will be available here and here.

Northside Festival Announces NExT Expo Conference Schedule

Brooklyn’s Northside Festival has unveiled the complete schedule for its NeXT Conference at the Wythe Hotel and Brooklyn Brewery.

Some of the speakers scheduled include the founders of KickstarterTurntable.fmOKCupid and a special conversation between Uber founder, Travis Kalanick and TLC Commissioner David Yassky. Some of the sessions include conversations with;

JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound Howl On New Album

Chicago band JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound have announced that they will release their new album Howl on Bloodshot Records on May 21.

To preview the album, the band is offering free streams of the tracks ‘Rouse Yourself’ and the title track. Check ’em out below;

The band traveled to Montreal to work with Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Wolf Parade, Godspeed You! Black Emperor) at Hotel2Tango studio. The recording process saw the band taking on a direct and free outlook, taking their raw soul sound in new directions. Frontman JC Brooks explores themes of love and longing in his deeply personal lyrics and his bandmates wear their influences on their sleeves, bringing a progression to their sound.

Stream Kingdom’s ‘Corpse’ For Free

LA-based DJ Kingdom (aka Ezra Rubin) has shared the second single from his forthcoming EP Vertical XL, out on May 28 via Rubin’s own Fade To Mind imprint.

He also shared the single ‘Bank Head’ featuring Kelela, give it a listen below;

This marks Rubin’s fifth release since he relocated from New York to LA in 2006. He co-founded Fade To Mind with close friends and collaborators Nguzunguzu, Total Freedom, and Prince William. The seven track EP covers everything from rural areas to urban clubs and is influenced by grime, jungle, and R&B.

Kingdom is slated to play at Tammany Hall in New York on May 10 and 11 as part of the Downtown Music Festival. He’ll be joined by Kelela and Kilo Kish.
