Videos For A Lazy Sunday: Big French’s ‘Payback’

Quentin Moore of Big French had this to say about the video for ‘Payback’;

“What if there was a song called ‘Payback’ that didn’t have so much to do with the fact that you were going to get someone back but what exactly it was that you were giving back to this person? Zach Phillips, who plays keyboards in Big French and who directed this music video, seems to think that we are going to give them our cars. But since the video shoot, only my car is conspicuously missing. I’m not positive but I think the cops, after I didn’t move it for a week or two, declared it abandoned and relayed its location to a predatory towing company, Knight, or maybe Night, Towing in Brooklyn, who then proceeded to impound and smash my 1992 maroon Camry LE. The only reason I’m not sure is because I failed to completely follow up on it.”

The band also shared a free stream of the track.

Videos For A Lazy Sunday: The Grouch & Eligh & Pretty Lights’ ‘All These Lights’

The Grouch and Eligh, formerly of the Living Legends dance collective, have joined forces with Pretty Lights for this Sean Michael Williams and Gus Winkelman-directed clip, Hubtuit produced.

The video uses new technique called “lyric-lapsing.”

“Its much more than that, it’s a combination of stop motion and time lapsing techniques shot with our lyrics synced up simultaneously. For every second of video we did 24 takes, each take being slightly different from the previous. It’s difficult to explain but basically, you have to see it!” The collaboration was honed after the duo met Pretty Lights, a long-time G&E fan, in his home of Colorado. “We had a good rapport,” Grouch explained in a statement.
