Austin’s The Black and White Years have shared a free stream of the title track from their forthcoming album Strange Figurines, out January 21, 2014 on Modern Outsider.

“Recently, a close friend of mine told me he wanted advice.  He had fallen in love with a girl who lived with her boyfriend, but she he gave him every indication that she wanted to leave her boyfriend and be with him,” Singer and guitarist Scott Butler said in a statement. “She never outright said, ‘I want you, not him. Kiss me, you fool!’  He wondered whether he should risk their friendship by telling her how he felt.  He never did and she’s still with her boyfriend.  I wrote this song for him.”

The band first came together in 2006 and have released two albums and an EP, won awards gone through line-up changes and nearly broken up.
