Montreal’s Beat Cops had their eye on artist Hart Less for a few years before he worked on the video for ‘Get Even’.
“I’ve always really dug his work,” frontman Mikey Heppner said in a statement. “Lately he’s been doing a lot of these really dark yet humorous collages, and when we started talking together about doing a video for ‘Get Even’, he said he wanted to try and sort of ‘videoify’ that concept, hence the overlapping frames etc.”
The vid’s theme is about having to prove yourself on the tough streets. The track was initially supposed to be titled ‘Mean Streets’, the title of the current release, but they instead decided to name the song after, “the ultra-shitty B movie Get Even,” Heppner explained.
