The track is taken from the band’s sophomore EP Floaty Feeling, Blue, out now on PaperCup Music. Weekender recorded the EP’s dreamy, textured psychedelic pop tunes at Fancy Time Studios with Derek Sheehan once again joining forces with Kyle “Slick” Johnson, who helmed the boards for the band’s debut Spanish Peaks.
“I bought two ’80s analogue synths, a June 106 and Prophet 600,” Sheehan said in a statement. “Adding a lot to the finished tracks. The textures of the synths create space for guitar and vocals, and I really love how much is going on between the notes.”
The band has a loyal, local following. They’ve supported Future Islands, The Growlers, Nothing, Surfer Blood, Israel Nash, Peace, Field Report and others when they played in Philadelphia.
