Stringer drew inspiration from missing her friends back home when writing ‘Anyone’.
“I wrote it as a direct message to my mates because I wanted to let them know the gravity of my feelings for them. It just felt like the right time for this song to happen,” Stringer said in a statement.
The vid was created by Melbourne filmmaker Agostino Soldati.
The album was helmed by Adam Selzer (The Decemberists, Jolie Holland, Fleet Foxes, M Ward). Stringer journeyed from Australia to Portland to record the album over the course of eight days in July 2015 at Seltzer’s studio Type Foundry. The album features appearances by Portland mainstays Luke Ydstie on bass and Ben Nugent on drums.
Stringer already has a loyal following in Australia where she was shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize for her 2012 release Warm in the Darkness. She also has two Age EG awards under her belt for Best Female Artist and Best Album.
