Videos for a Lazy Sunday: Woodpigeon’s ‘Whole Body Shakes’

The video for Woodpigeon‘s ‘Whole Body Shakes’ was filmed in a diverse number of locations including the mountains of Iceland and a warehouse in Vancouver.

The trio of dancers in the Greg Gillespie-directed video are co-founders of Vancouver’s Konichiwaack crew. They demonstrate Waacking; a dance style developed in the 1970’s and 1980’s that was a huge influence on Voguing, the dance style Madonna made famous with her 1990 hit.

Where Voguing is more of a competitive/”battle” dance style, Waacking is about moving together.

‘Whole Body Shakes’ can be found on Woodpigeon’s latest release T R O U B L E, out now on Boompa/WIAIWYA.
