Stream Trudy & the Romance’s ‘He Sings’ for Free

Trudy and the Romance had this to say about their new single ‘He Sings’ in an e-mail;

“Remember us… Trudy of ‘Baby I’m Blue’ fame? Well here we are back to attack with another big single to make your toes tingle.

It goes by the name of ‘He Sings’ and it’s a troublesome ting. Crashing drums and carnivalesque guitar lines intwine leaving a hot smoking bomb site where once was a mind. Oh we’ll blow it and we’ll let you know it, this that hot shit. ‘He Sings’ baby.

Happy to say we’ve teamed up with the guys at B3SCI for a double A side single produced by Billy willy Ryder Jones, they’ll be sticking us on web and wax very soon. Sad and mad, we gotta fill you in on a slight alteration to our entire legacy, we are now Trudy and the Romance and you better get used to it.

As for shows under our new moniker we got a few festivals through May (Stag and Dagger, Great Escape, Gold Sounds, Sound City) as well as a couple London shows to look forward to including our first headline London gig in July. Don’t miss out.”

The band is streaming the single for free. They also announced live dates;

May 17 Radio X @ The Social (London)

May 19 The Great Escape (DIY Stage, 7.15 Horatios)

May 21 Gold Sounds (Leeds)

May 29 Sound City (Liverpool)

July 23 Liverpool International Music Festival (Liverpool)

Stream Over Sands’ ‘Two Cranes’ for Free

London’s Over Sands have shared a free stream of ‘Two Cranes’ from their self-titled EP, out on November 20 on B3SCI.

“‘Two Cranes’ began life in a cold, dark railway arch in south London.  It was really just a title and a drum loop. Only when we left the city a few months later to write and record in a beach house on England’s east coast did the idea became a fully fledged song. Written over the course of a day, we couldn’t have predicted the extent to which our surroundings would influence the sound and feel of the track.  Looking back, it couldn’t have been made anywhere else,” the band said in a statement.

The environment the band wrote the EP in, a secluded beach house on the East Coast of England, gave the release it’s ebbing and flowing sound. They also took advantage of the environment; recording one song, ‘Hounds’, in a WWII bunker.

The band will hold a free EP release show at The Sebright Arms on November 25.
