Videos for a Lazy Saturday: Bloom Twins’ ‘Set Us Free’

The video for Bloom Twins‘ ‘Set Us Free’ lives up to its name taking the viewer through a series of POV Go-Pro shots of skiing, bungee jumping, scuba-diving and zip-wiring at spots around the world.

“We tend to forget about the simple pleasures in life that make us happy. The world is our oyster. It’s only needed to be prized open to be enjoyed, with the pearl as the prize. Life should be about love, peace, happiness and freedom, and a home for it all is our beautiful planet,” Bloom Twins said in a statement.

Sonia and Anna Kuprienko, aka Bloom Twins, co-wrote the track with Fiona Bevan and Max McElligott and it was produced by Greg Fitzgerald. It’s the first song they wrote after returning to their adopted hometown of London following being stuck in their native Ukraine following the political uprising there.

Despite this, the song is not political but rather, as the title says, a call for freedom.

Videos for a Lazy Sunday: Bloom Twins’ ‘Amnesia’

The B&W video for Bloom Twins‘ ‘Amnesia’ finds them performing in a number of outfits and immersing themselves in body paints as well as shots of it running in reverse and in slow motion.

The track is taken from forthcoming debut album, due out later this year, title and date TBA.

The track was produced by Anthony Marshall, who was worked with Craig David, K-Ci and JoJo, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Simply Red, Pet Shop Boys. A majority of the new album was recorded and produced by Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes.

Sonia and Anna Kuprienko were born in a small town outside of Kiev in the Ukraine and first gained attention when they uploaded their debut track ‘Fahrenheit’ to YouTube in 2013 and subsequently signed to Select Model Management where they were profiled in Vogue, i-D, The Guardian, Daily Mail and The Sunday Times.

They released a cover of Bob Marley’s ‘Get Up, Stand Up’ in sympathy with the political turmoil in the Ukraine and they were covered in the pages of publications in the UK and BBC Newsnight with Jeremy Paxman.

They subsequently relocated to London. From there, they built their online presence during 2014 as well as playing shows around the UK and Europe. They received further attention from a number of fashion publications as well as being named MTV’s Artist of the Week.

2015 saw Bloom Twins play a number of high profile gigs around London including opening for Duran Duran on their Paper Gods tour of England. Nick Rhodes was so impressed that he offered to work with them.

They also appeared as part of UNICEF’s Imagine campaign along with Katy Perry and will.i.am.
