Stream Falcon Jane’s ‘The News’ for Free

Falcon Jane, aka Sara May, had this to say about her track ‘The News’ in an e-mail; “’The News’ is about losing someone you love and trying to find them amidst the dense, emotional fog of grief. I hope it can help aid those who are grieving by reflecting some of the complicated emotions we are feeling.”

She offered a free stream of the track, taken from her latest album Feelin’ Freaky, out now.

The severe flooding that affected her community Southwestern Ontario also inspired the track, particularly a young child who was washed out of his mother’s arms. May and her partner had driven through the area just a few hours before the tragedy struck. She noted that there were a lot of parallels between the child’s death and ‘The News’.

When the next flood hit, May tried to capture when she and the community had been feeling.

“Water can be powerful and destructive, beautiful and cleansing. Its constant flow reminds us to keep moving forward – yet we are at the mercy of the current, the rainfall, and the floods,” she wrote.

Falcon Jane Unveil the Video for ‘Go With The Flow’

Orangeville, Ontario “plez-rock” band Falcon Jane have shared the video for ‘Go With The Flow’ from their forthcoming third album Feelin’ Freaky, out this summer, release date TBA.

In an e-mail, frontwoman Sara May describes the band’s music as being, “by nature, truth, peace and magic! (and life n death n whatever else).”

The band toured Eastern Canada in 2017 as well as gigs in a number of Toronto’s best-known venues.

“‘Go With The Flow’ is the ultimate chill out song for freaky, anxious peeps like me. It’s currently my fave Falcon Jane tune, so I wanted the video to feel very personal – very true to me. I directed, produced, and edited the video (got my bff, Deviio, to shoot it), and it’s basically about me chillin’ in my small town, doing things that make me relax n feel cool. My background is in filmmaking so it was nice to be able to combine my two passions to create this masterpiece!” May said.
