Videos for a Lazy Sunday: Clouder’s ‘All the Royal Years Are Gone’

Director Bryan Bruchman captured the essence of Clouder‘s live show when he filmed them at Pianos in Brooklyn for the video for ‘All The Royal Years Are Gone’ sophomore album Sister Raygun, out now on Fleeting Youth Records.

Northside Festival Announces New Additions

Brooklyn’s Northside Festival has announced new additions to its already impressive line-up.

Chance the Rapper, Majical Cloudz and Body/Head (feat. Kim Gordon and Bill Nace) have joined Walkmen, Black Flag, Lambchop, Swans and many more on the event’s line-up.

Northside runs from June 13 to 20 at sites around Brooklyn. For details, head here.


Northside Festival Announces New Additions To Film Component

Brooklyn’s Northside Festival has announced new additions to the event’s film component.

Northside Film and Northside Town Hall will join forces to premiere Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective founder Landon Van Soest’s installation Five Windows. Women Make Movies will present Forbidden Voices, a chronicle of women around the world speaking out in the dictatorial regimes they live in.

Other films being presented include the NY premiere of  Swim Little Fish Swim, Frenzy, She Said Boom: The Story of Fifth Column, American Job, Your Day is My Night, Byzantium, Paris is Burning, Ape and the NY premiere of The Invader.

The shortlist for The Northside DIY Film Competition has also been announced. Four feature-length films and 10 shorts will compete for cash prizes and equipment.

The shortlist for features is;

The 10 short films will be decided by audience choice;

Northside Festival Announces NExT Expo Conference Schedule

Brooklyn’s Northside Festival has unveiled the complete schedule for its NeXT Conference at the Wythe Hotel and Brooklyn Brewery.

Some of the speakers scheduled include the founders of KickstarterTurntable.fmOKCupid and a special conversation between Uber founder, Travis Kalanick and TLC Commissioner David Yassky. Some of the sessions include conversations with;

The panel discussions will include topics such as What I Would Do, If I Could Do it Again- Lessons Learned from Building Behance and The Road to Acquisition: Part 1. Some of the other panel discussions will include:

  • Surviving the Trend: Grow Your Business Right & Sustain with Charles Adler
  • Exploring Data Science
  • Building for Small and Medium Businesses
  • Metrics the CTO needs to Know

Stream Anthony Naples’ Remix Of Lust For Youth’s ‘Chasing The Light’

NYC-based producer Anthony Naples shared this remix of Sweden’s Lust For Youth‘s ‘Chasing The Light’.

Naples is best known for his work with Four Tet and and Mr. Saturday Night. He also recently started his own label Proibito.

Lust For Youth will be making their way to North America for dates at Chaos in Tejas and Northside Festival with more expected to be announced.


Northside Festival Unveils Initial Line-up

Brooklyn’s Northside Festival has unveiled the early line-up as it heads into its fifth year.

The event will run at assorted venues in Williamsburg and Greenpoint with NExT, a free expo at McCarren Park in Brooklyn featuring the best of innovators  in NYC as well as an entrepreneurship in the neighbourhood.

Northside will also partner with Red Bull Creation, a 72-hour competition that will pit six teams of makers, hackers and inventors against each other in a live build format in McCarren Park from June 12 to 16. For details, head here.

In addition to all of this, over 350 acts, including a reunited Black Flag,  will be playing, including two free shows in McCarren Park as well as free shows as part of Williamsburg Walks on June 15.
