Check Out Who’s NeXT@NXNE

Toronto rock booker extraordinaire Dan Burke has just announced the NeXT@NXNE showcases at the Silver Dollar and Velvet Underground.

This year, Los Angeles garage rockers Bleached (Pictured), formerly Mika Miko, will play three nights, June 14th to 16th. They’re going to be joined by a stellar line-up each night including Hooded Fang, Parlovr and more, part of POP Montreal’s showcase as previously mentioned, plus Mac DeMarco, Ell V Gore and many more!

June 14th will see Halifax’s Cousins playing the Velvet Underground with Stella Ella Ola, featuring Hollerado’s Nixon Boyd, and Always, the new band from Molly Rankin.

June 16th at the Velvet Underground is yet another can’t-miss showcase with Ivan Julian, the guitarist for Richard Hell and The Voidoids. The Voidoids were one of the first wave of punk bands and Richard Hell needs no introduction. The equally awesome Dearly Beloved and Two Koreas will also round out the bill.

Once NXNE wraps up, there are a couple great gigs happening at the Silver Dollar and the infamous Comfort Zone. Fiver, a non-country outlet for Simone Schmidt of the brilliant $100 are playing the Silver Dollar on June 29th.  Army Girls and Nordic Nomadic are also on on the bill.

I’ve shared my love for Little Foot Long Foot on h@tb before. To see what I’m gushing about, check ’em out at The Comfort Zone on July 12th with Radio Moscow and Biblical.
