Stream Small Circle’s ‘Spinning’ for Free

Small Circle‘s Marissa D’elia had this to say about this single ‘Spinning’, now streaming for free, in a statement;

“‘Spinning’ is about not being met with the same emotional effort you’re putting into a friendship/relationship yet still providing it against better judgement. Both verses come together to form this perfect juxtaposition of feeling exhausted but wanting to see that pain through.”

The track is taken from their album Cyclical, out one September 8 via Flower Girl Records/Triple Crown Records.

The band came together when Sorority Noise singer Cam Boucher recruited D’Elia for a new project in early 2016, despite never having heard her sing before, he still knew that she had a message to deliver.

They released their debut EP in April 2016. Even though Boucher was a music veteran, it was D’Elia’s first experience with a band.

“I definitely struggled with finding my voice,” D’Elia explained. “I have friends who have made some of my favorite music ever, and a lot of times I’d turn to Cam and say, ‘My favorite songs already exist’ or ‘This song I want to write already exists.’ He always told me to reach for more. A big thing was getting over perfection.”

“This album is me trying to decide what’s important to me, what’s been sitting on my heart and how I want to use my voice,” she continued. “Cam said I have important things to say, and every time I’m writing, I go back to that.”

Small Circle will head out on the road in support of the album in late summer/early fall. Catch them on the following dates;

2. Vague Consensus
3. Spinning
4. Mornings

A Will Away have shared the video for ‘My Sitter’.

The band’s Bliss EP will be re-issued by Triple Crown Records on October 23.

A Will Away wrote the EP over three weeks after scrapping an entire LP’s worth of material.

“We had reached this point where we had made all these previous records and we really tried to cater and direct those to an audience when we made them,” singer Matt Carlson admitted in a statement. “I think we found over time that what we were missing and what we were losing throughout that process was playing music for ourselves—the reason we started playing to begin with. Videos For a Lazy Sunday: Foxing’s ‘Rory’

The video for ‘Rory’ from St. Louis Missouri’s Foxing was shot entirely by the band’s members, none of who have any formal film training.

It’s taken from their debut album The Albatross, out on May 27 on Triple Crown Records.

“By the time we started mixing, most songs had well over 100 tracks. While there was no exact rush to release The Albatross, we did not have the luxury to let the record sit for a few weeks and come back to it with fresh ears. I wasn’t able to listen objectively until after the album was mastered and released,” producer and mixing engineer Ryan Wasoba explained about the decision to remix and remaster the album in a statement.

“Because of time, money or whatever issues that plagues recording, we weren’t able to dedicate all the attention to the mix and mastering that it deserved. Once we signed with Triple Crown we’re able to revisit everything. It was a delicate process of cleaning up and bringing out certain qualities in the record that were already there. I think it sounds wonderful,” bassist Jason Coll explained.
